What is citizenship by investment?

Citizenship by investment (names vary by country) is a lawful pathway under which a host government may grant citizenship to qualifying applicants who complete due diligence and meet a published investment or contribution requirement. Rules and timelines are set by each host country and can change. Where this site names a programme or shows a government-published figure, it does so only on Programme Directory and Industry News pages, each with a government source and a verification date. Elsewhere on this site we do not name programmes or quote fees. Those figures are not a Beyond Borders fee quote.

Do you file the application yourselves?

Beyond Borders is not itself a licensed or authorised agent of any programme. Where a programme requires a licensed local agent or counsel to file, the application is filed by them; we work within that requirement and do not bypass it.

How long does it take?

Timelines are set by each host government and vary by programme and case. We do not guarantee approval, processing times or visa-free access, and programme rules, visa-free access and government fees can change. This is not an application filing and not a fee quote.

Will this affect my current nationality?

Acquiring another citizenship can affect your current nationality and rights; for example, the People's Republic of China does not recognise dual nationality for Chinese nationals. Please take advice from qualified professionals before acting.

Do you give legal or tax advice?

Beyond Borders is an advisory and coordination layer. We do not replace legal, tax, immigration, or investment counsel; we help clients make decisions in the right order, with the right specialists, and with a conservative view of future risk.

How do you check the facts on this site?

Programme facts and government-published figures appear only on Programme Directory and Industry News pages. Each one links to an official source and shows the date we last checked it. In the Programme Directory, each fact is copied word for word from our verified facts record. We do not estimate, round or combine figures. If you think something is wrong, tell us through the Contact page and we will re-check the official source. How we verify sets out the full process; Editorial standards covers how we report news.

What happens after I get in touch?

We reply confidentially, usually within a few business days. Please do not send passport, ID or bank details by email at this stage. This is not an application filing and not a fee quote.
