A Global Forum news item dated 14 September 2026 states that Argentina has committed to implement the Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (CARF) and to start automatic exchange of information on crypto-asset transactions by September 2029. With Argentina's commitment, the Global Forum says 77 jurisdictions are committed to implementing CARF by 2027, 2028 or 2029. The Global Forum says it will monitor Argentina's progress and that its Secretariat will support implementation. This is a tax-transparency timeline piece. It does not discuss Argentina's citizenship-by-investment announcement, which remains not open on our register.

Argentina announces a citizenship-by-investment programme: what is official, and what is not yet open

Argentina's Ministry of Economy says its citizenship-by-investment programme will be ready to receive applications during the fourth quarter of 2026. A court has questioned the decree behind it. We do not market this programme. On 2 October 2026 Argentina's Ministry of Economy announced the launch of a citizenship-by-investment programme. It said the programme will be operational to receive applications during the fourth quarter of 2026. The ministry describes two routes: a non-refundable contribution to the National Treasury, or subscription of a public security created for the programme. Spouses and children may apply with their own prescribed contributions. Under Decree 524/2025, a dedicated Agency assesses each application and consults security, financial-intelligence and other bodies. The National Directorate of Migration (DNM) then grants or refuses citizenship. Argentina's Public Prosecutor's Office reported on 2 July 2026 that the National Electoral Chamber had declared the underlying decree, DNU 366/2025, null in a citizenship case.
